Beograd i tamo neki Beograđani
1. The city lies on two international waterways, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube river. It lies on Balkan Paninsula, and Pannonian Plain. So, New Belgrade and Zemun lies on Pannonian Plain and older city of the Belgrade on the Balkan Paninsual (To je dobra priča dok stojite kod Pobedika i kažeš kako gleda na Panonsku niziju a zapravo stoji na Balkanskom poluostrvu.
2. It is the largest city in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
Jedan od zapisa "Тhe whole land was rebelled, a six hundert villages arose, everybody pointed his gun against the emperor".
4. Republic Squere. Where it is? The horse is there.
A zašto???
Turkish Sultan gave the key of the Belgrade to Mihailo Obrenović. It ment freedom for Seerbs. Than Mihailo entered the city with his horse. Also, Mihailo initiated the structure on National Theatar. He belived that the Belgrade in future will become the Balkan Vienna (HA!). On his statue where he is sitting on the horse are the names of 6 cities, that Mihailo has win for Serbs.
5. Kalemegdan
While Turks were in this area, Kalemegdan was forbidden town, where just people convicted to deth were carried.
The Victor is a monument erected after I World War to commemorate the first allied victory of the war. On the left hend of the Victor is a dove which simbolise the ceaper, looker, that dark side doesn't wake, and in case it happend, sword will be used to distroy and win dark side.
6. Cathedral of Saint Sava
The Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is bilt on location where his remain are thought to have been burned.
In II World War German army, and later Partisans, used the unfinished Cahtedral as a parking lot. Later it was used as storage by verious companies.
To vam je to za prvi dan, a sad let's go to eat some meat :)
